The cattle will calf from Jan1-April. There are 96 head of Angus: 48 that are 7 years old and 48 that are 5 years. They were purchased as bred heifers from Circle S Ranch in Hays, Kansas. Circle S was a cooperator herd from R.A. Brown Ranch and Garidner Angus Ranch. These cattle are the result of 3 generations of AI breeding. They are moderate on milk and frame score. All of the cows can thrive on grass and make a living with minimal or no supplementation. They are extremely quiet and easy to handle. They have been in a rotational grazing system and are broke to the truck. The cattle have been handled 5 or more times per year. The steers have been purchased by the same buyer for the past 3 years. They are really performing well in Nebraska feedlots: 2007 calves: .92/cwt @ 785 lbs. 2008 calves: 1.06/cwt @ 700 lbs. 2009 calves: .97/cwt @ 700 lbs.
